Casey and I got ourselves a belated Christmas present--three Parakeets! It was totally an impulse buy. I thought Casey wanted them but he thought I wanted them when in all reality we were both just staring at them at the store on Saturday night because they were so cool looking. Of course we BOTH wanted them, but it wasn't one of us begging the other to please please please PLEASE let me have them!!! In the picture above you can see Eagle (gray) and Ace (blue). We're pretty sure these two are boys. Bros before Hoes!

Here is another shot of Ace. He is the calmest and nicest one of the bunch. I picked him out. We're trying to teach our birds how to whistle back at us and Casey wants to teach them how to say "Ribbet!" instead of "Pretty Bird." Wouldn't that be totally awesome to hear a bird make frog noises?!?

This is Eagle on the left and Bear (green) on the right. Bear is the only female. But she is a crabby, cranky, witchy sort of character. Rather than naming her "Witch-With-A-Capital-B" we opted for Bear to match her ferocious attitude. We gave Eagle his name because he flies more than the others and he's always swooping down like he's gonna pounce on something. *shrug* At least we didn't keep rhyming our bird names with our dog name trend there for a little bit. We have Buck, then we had Chuck for a while, then we'd have to go with Duck... and then... well... you know. You probably can't tell but cruelest of cruel sense of humor that I have, when Casey asked me for some newspaper to throw in the bottom of the cage to catch their droppings, all I could come up with was the "Upland Game" Hunting proclomation. Yeah... a book about the killing of birds staring straight up at my parakeets all day long. Hmmm...
